Successful CC Meetings in VLC

Two days of Challenger Commission meetings -- yesterday afternoon's working party (sub-committee) meetings on key agenda issues, and today's all-day session of the full Challenger Commission -- have concluded here in Valencia with the CC happily focused and more unified than ever. With one exception the CC resolved unanimously, or nearly so, each of the 30+ agenda items.

As you can imagine with Act 13 beginning a week from today, all of us involved have a lot on our plates with our own teams, let alone CC duties. Nonetheless we expect to post a full report of the CC's proceedings here on the CCB tomorrow or latest Thursday.

Last evening the CC was treated yet again to a most enjoyable dinner hosted by Louis Vuitton's Christine Belanger at the popular Restaurant Aragon 58 (it's a good one too, and a personal favorite of Luna Rossa chairman Patrizio Bertelli). These occasions are not only relaxing, but help very much to bring all the Delegates to the table -- in every sense of the expression. Photos by Monica Savini's camera....

Harold Bennett (NZL, Senior Race Officer), Wolf Deitz (GER, United Internet Team Germany) and Katie Pettibone (USA, AREVA Challenge).

Caroline Cutler (CAN/NZL) with her husband John (NZL, Desafío Español).

Niccolo Porzio di Camporotondo (ITA, RC Operations Director), Monica Savini (FRA/USA, Louis Vuitton), and Tommaso Chieffi (ITA, Shosholoza).

Commodore W. H. Dyer Jones (USA, Regatta Director) with Christine Belanger (FRA, Louis Vuitton AC Sponsorship Director).

Don Martin (CAN, Measurement Committee), Sasha Lines (GBR, Jury/Umpire Administrator) and Michael Ten Bokum (NED/ESP, CC Assistant).

Dyer and Niccolo presented a "classic" LV Cup Race Committee flag (from AC 31 in Auckland) to Christine and Monica in appreciation for all they have done for the regatta officials over the years and continuing with AC 32.
